Rainbow Trout Fishing is Back ! Oregon's Department of Fish and Wildlife's treatment of Diamond Lake to rid it of Tui Chubs was a complete success in 2006. All chubs and other trash fish were removed. Diamond Lake has once again become a trout producing machine. The water is clear with excellent quality. Insect populations have grown from zero in October of 2006 to over 150 pounds per acre in September of 2008. This means lots of fat, healthy, hard fighting trout that are excellent on the dinner table.
